CASE REPORT
Topical ivermectin treatment in draft horse foals.
Dr Marieke Brys and peers have concluded that topical ivermectin at 1mg/kg bodyweight is a useful and effective alternative to moxidectin which is unsafe for use in youngstock. Repeat dose at 7 days per the life cycle of chorioptes bovis (feather mites).
Two 9 month old draft foals were studied with good results: pruritus, dermal scaling and mites were eliminated within up to 3 weeks of the first dose.
Consult your vet before use.
